Edward Frank Benisek

INDIANAPOLIS

Edward Frank Benisek went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 2, 2021 at the age of 78.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Beatrice (Hoza) Benisek, his beloved wife Cecelia Jean Benisek of 47 years, daughter Michelle Benisek and step daughter Patricia Phillips.

Ed is survived by his stepson Larry Edward Price, Brother and wife Oscar John Benisek and Paula, Niece, Katie Bowyer and Nephews, Ryan and Brendan Benisek. Ed also was survived by a tremendous group of friends and brothers and sisters in the church: Dave, Jewel, Suzi, Pat, Deb, Molly, John, Sharon, Andrea, Jerry, Robin, and many others that were always there to help him during months of very difficult times.

Ed attended Gonzaga School in Venezuela. He moved with parents to Belcamp, MD where he graduated from Aberdeen High School. Ed graduated from the University of Maryland and earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned two Masters Degrees in Business and Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Ed had multiple patents for turbo charger related designs and multiple engineering jobs during his career.

Ed was a devoted husband and father and loving and caring brother and uncle. He enjoyed going to Colts games, hand gun target shooting and working in the yard. Ed’s biggest passion was sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and being a positive role model for others. His integrity and support of his family and friends was unwavering. At the end of Ed’s life he was 100% confident he was going to be in heaven with the Lord and family members that passed before him. At the end he was only concerned about others left behind and their pain.

Ed will truly be missed by his family and all of those who were blessed to have been a part of his life.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, and 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142. A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 -2:00 pm and funeral services at 2:00 pm. Services to be led by pastor Brock Graham. Donations in place of flowers can be sent to the “The Gathering Together” nonprofit hospice care center, at 147 North Center Street, Plainfield, IN 46168, that took great care of Ed and family during his last hours.
