Rex Stiffler

Rex Charles Stiffler, 91, passed away on Friday morning, April 9, 2021 at Franciscan Health, Indianapolis.
He was born on November 25, 1929 in Delaware County, the only child of Ray and Dott (White) Stiffler and graduated from DeSoto High School in 1947. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. On June 21, 1957 in Muncie, he married Maryln Ann Hartley.
Rex was a lifelong public accountant and for many years was self-employed.
He was a 35- year member of Hazelwood Christian Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. Rex was an active member of many organizations including: St. Luke Masonic Lodge, Franklin, IN, Anthony Lodge
#171 F& A.M., Albany, Muncie Chapter #30 R.A.M., Council #16 Cryptic Masons, York Rite College #55, Ft. Wayne, Muncie Commandery #18 K.T., Sons of The American Revolution Chapter #110, National Society of Public Accountants and the Indiana Society of Public Accountants. He enjoyed walking and was still walking 4 miles a day until age 89.
Surviving are two daughters, Denise Bain (husband, John) of Indianapolis and Nancy Malzon (husband, Ron) of Victoria, B.C., Canada; and one grandson, Nathan Malzon of Victoria, B.C., Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 51 years, Maryln Ann Stiffler on September 18, 2008.
There will be no services.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary, Washington Street Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Mausoleum at 2:30 p.m. with military honors provided by The United States Army.
