Braves rout Hornets

Visiting Indian Creek rolled past Beech Grove on Tuesday, 55-26. Freshman Faith Wiseman collected 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Braves (2-3).

Boys basketball

Lancers earn opening win

Edinburgh outscored Southwestern 16-2 in the third quarter, erasing a four-point halftime deficit and going on to a 57-46 home victory in its first game of the season.

Swimming and diving

Grizzly Cubs sweep Bull Dogs

Franklin got its season started by sweeping Columbus North on Tuesday, with the girls winning by a 158-64 score and the boys earning a 129-77 victory.

Double winners for the Grizzly Cubs included Paige Lawrence (200 and 500 freestyle), Gracey Payne (50 and 100 free) and Allie Lacy (200 IM, 100 backstroke) for the girls and Cade Oliver (200 free, 100 breast) for the boys.

Also winning individually for the girls were Kabria Chapman (breaststroke), Grace Fisher (butterfly) and Camryn Quiggins (diving). On the boys side, Ethan Pheifer (IM), Mac Ratzlaff (fly) and Drake Keller (diving) all had first-place finishes.
