Thompson takes Pleasant Township school board seat

Voters selected David Thompson to fill the Pleasant Township seat on the Clark-Pleasant school board Tuesday.

Thompson received 54% of the vote, defeating Justin Kloer, who received 46%.

Thompson will replace Curtis Harris, who did not run for reelection for the Pleasant Township school board spot.

Thompson, who taught at Clark-Pleasant Middle School for 39 years, said last month he does not have an agenda, although he would like to see financial literacy be required by the time students graduate from Whiteland Community High School.

“I thought I could contribute even more. I really don’t have an agenda,” Thompson said. “I’d like to see Clark-Pleasant continuing to control the COVID-19 pandemic, and I think I could do a good job representing the students and teachers.”
