Shepherd tied for state amateur lead
Center Grove graduate Erica Shepherd made her return to competition with a 2-under-par 70, good for a share of the first-round lead at the Indiana Women’s State Amateur Championship, which began Wednesday at Old Oakland Golf Club in Indianapolis.
Shepherd enters today’s second round tied with Annabelle Pancake and Julia Potter-Bobb.
Other local participants include Ava Ray of Franklin, who is tied for 33rd after shooting an 80; Center Grove grad Lucy Young (T-41st, 82); and Liv Parramore (T-56, 85) and Lexi Ray (T-65, 86) of Franklin.
