Swimmers start strong at HCAC meet
The Franklin College women got off to a dominating start at the HCAC Championships, winning every event on the first day of competition.
The Grizzlies won the 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay while also getting individual wins from Brynna Sentel (500 freestyle), Caileigh McCafferty (200 IM), Courtnee Coffman (50 free) and Faith Jackson (3-meter diving).
On the men’s side, the Grizzlies shook off a disqualification in the 200 free relay and earned three first-place finishes. Charlie Hall won the 200 individual medley, Gauge Creech led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 3-meter diving and the 400 medley relay team was victorious.
Day two of the three-day meet in Terre Haute is today.
