Local marching bands across the county earned top five finishes at weekend competitions.
Indian Creek’s Marching Braves came in first in Scholastic Class B in Brownsburg, and also won an award for best music.
The Marching Woodmen from Greenwood Community High School snagged first place in Open Class B. They also won caption awards for music, general effect, visual and color guard.
Center Grove High School’s marching band came in second in Open Class A and earned and award for best color guard at the Lawrence Central Invitational.

Franklin Community High School’s Blue Regiment placed fifth in Open Class B at their first competition of the season at Brownsburg.
