Locals help FC Pride place fourth nationally

Two Johnson County players were on the FC Pride U15 team that placed fourth at the ECNL national finals in Richmond, Virginia over the weekend.

Franklin sophomore Addie Marshall and Center Grove freshman Kayli Farmer were on the squad, which lost a double-overtime match to New Jersey club PDA in a Friday semifinal and fell in Saturday’s third-place match against MVLA of California, the 2018 national champion.

FC Pride was 20-6-2 on the season, winning the ECNL’s Ohio Valley League title.

Larence adds pick-six in North/South game

Whiteland graduate Trevor Larence, who led all Johnson County players with six interceptions last football season, picked off a pass and returned it 73 yards for a touchdown during the North/South All-Star Classic last weekend at North Central High School.

Larence’s South teammate, former Center Grove standout Brian Gaffney, added three tackles in the game, which the North team won by a 25-24 margin.
