A nationwide deli known for its sweet tea is opening a location in Franklin.
McAlister’s Deli is planned for property in front of the Meijer store on U.S. 31, just south of Commerce Drive, according to documents filed with the city. The restaurant serves sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes and soups.
The company has more than 400 restaurants in 28 states, including two restaurants on the far southside of Indianapolis and one on State Road 135 in the Center Grove area.
The Franklin restaurant would be operated by Southern Rock Restaurants, a franchisee of McAlister’s Deli, the documents said. The company operates 82 delis in Indiana and six other states.
