County residents can meet local authors at an upcoming fair

An upcoming author fair will put readers into contact with local authors.

The Clark-Pleasant library is hosting the fair at 10 a.m. March 23. The library is at 1664 Library Blvd., Greenwood.

Book lovers can meet authors who have written books on topics ranging from gardening to history.

Here is a look at the authors who will attend:

Aslan Tudor is 11 years old and a citizen of the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas.

Lou Ellen Overhultz Watts has lived in South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Arizona but now lives in Franklin. Her book, “Sleeping In Dixie’s Feather Bed: Growing Up White In The Segregated South,” was published in October 2018.

Paul J. Hoffman has spent his entire professional career gathering facts and telling stories as a journalist. He has used those skills to write two nonfiction books: “Murder in Wauwatosa: The Mysterious Death of Buddy Schumacher” and “Wicked Columbus, Indiana.” A one-time sports writer and news editor, he has been the special publications editor for the Daily Journal, based in Franklin, since 2001.

Kimberly Hoffman is the author of “Emma’s Dancing Day” and “Sigmund Stanley Spider Squared.” Hoffman is a lifelong resident of Columbus.

Kaylin R. Boyd is a fantasy author. She has published an illustrated book of prose, “The Mountain” and “Tell City”

Linda E. Minton is a retired elementary school teacher. She has an interest in World War II and has written two books about World War II veterans, “WWII Heroes: We Were Just Doing Our Jobs” and “Remembering WWII Women.”

Chaplain Mike Mercer works as a chaplain with Community Home Health Hospice. Mercer has written two books: “Walking Home Together: Spiritual Guidance and Practical Advice for the End of Life” and “Show Me the Path: Cultivating a Life of Discernment”

Nate Logan is the author of “Inside the Golden Days of Missing You” (Magic Helicopter Press, 2019.) He’s the editor and publisher of Spooky Girlfriend Press.

Darrell French is an Indiana native who has always been interested in Indiana history. In 2006, he built a home next to the abandoned Franklin & Martinsville railroad. He began researching and writing about it.

Christy Newton is a romance writer.

Carol Michel is the author of “Potted & Pruned: Living a Gardening Life,” which received the 2018 Garden Media Gold Award for Best Overall Book from GWA: The Association of Garden Communicators, “Homegrown and Handpicked: A Year in a Gardening Life” and “The Christmas Cottontail: A Story for Gardeners of All Ages.”
