BENDING THE ARC: HOW TWO COLLEGE FRIENDS HAVE EASED SUFFERING AROUND THE WORLD, 7 p.m. today, Branigin Room, Napolitan Student Center, Franklin College. Free.

When Dr. Paul Farmer and Todd McCormack were students in college, they built a friendship based on the desire to help others throughout the world.

That mission, and the friendship that solidified around it, is still going strong today. They helped found Partners in Health, providing health care for the poor around the world.

Farmer and McCormack will sit down and tell their story during the final Convocation Lecture Series at Franklin College for the year. John Krull, director of the Pulliam School of Journalism at the college, will moderate the discussion.

TASTY TRAVELS, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 and April 24, Clark-Pleasant library, 530 Tracy Road. Free.

Take your taste buds on vacation during this special program held through the Johnson County Public Library. In this children’s program, participants will have the opportunity to learn about new countries while sampling some of the best snacks and candies that the country has to offer.

For each month’s program, the country in question will be a surprise, meaning that every time you take part, you never know what exotic treats you’ll be trying.

The library asks that people register for the program, and you can do that at pageafterpage.org.
