Duke names Franklin resident to team
Duke Energy has selected Richard ‘Rick’ Smith as the newest member of the large account management team to serve as account executive for the south-central Indiana service territory.
Previously, Smith worked as the supervisor of construction and maintenance at Duke Energy in the Shelbyville and Franklin areas.
Smith grew up in the Plainfield area and lives in Franklin.
Franklin business park named a certified site
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs announced the designation of Indiana Site Certified Silver to the Franklin Business Park
The Franklin Business Park is a 140-acre site two miles from Interstate 65. In a partnership between the landowner and Johnson County Development Corp., the property has all utilities installed and could be used for business services, general/light manufacturing, transportation, distribution and logistics.
The Indiana Site Certified program validates sites that are ready for economic development. The program is administered by OCRA in partnership with the state’s Fast Access Site Team, which includes multiple state agencies.
Columbus native given promotion
Strand Associates, Inc. has promoted Bill Hawkins, P.E., director of operations, to vice president.
Hawkins joined Strand in 1992 and has held multiple management positions in the Columbus office, including his current role as director of operations. He has experience in design, quality control and construction of transportation projects for INDOT and local agencies.
