Greenwood police asking for help in solving robbery

Greenwood police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Center Grove area Burger King at gunpoint on Sunday.

About 8:30 p.m. a white man wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt entered the restaurant at 5979 N. State Road 135, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, according to a news release from the Greenwood Police Department.

The manager opened the drawer to one of the registers and the suspect took the entire cash drawer, which contained an undetermined amount of money, according to the news release.

The man left the scene in an early 2000’s dark blue Chevy Impala with what appeared to be a temporary license plate in the lower left corner of the rear window and was last seen driving northbound on State Road 135, the news release said.
