A bank that serves some customers in the county is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The National Bank of Indianapolis began in 1993 when 18 people decided to launch a bank that would serve central Indiana. The bank has a branch in Greenwood and is now celebrating its anniversary. They now have 18 branches located in the Indianapolis area.
The bank is based in Indianapolis and is cited as the largest locally owned national bank in the Indianapolis area market and is one of the largest 350 in the country, according to a news release from the bank.
Diamond Capital Management, the bank’s wealth management division, ranks 162 out of 1,250 wealth management divisions nationally. The wealth management division was started in 1995. The bank is headquartered in a 100-year-old building in Indianapolis and has about 334 employees and assets of just more than $2 billion.
The bank is privately owned with most of the bank’s 600 shareholders living in central Indiana and the local nature of the bank has allowed employees and shareholders to give back to the communities they serve. The bank recently gave each employee $100 to donate to the non-profit organization of their choice, according to the news release.
In June, the company was given the Spirit United Award from the United Way of Central Indiana.
