Library offering scholarship

The Greenwood Public Library will award a scholarship to a high school senior who loves to read.

The Century of Reading Scholarship, worth $5,000, is open to seniors attending a high school in Johnson County or a homeschooled student who lives in the county.

This one-time award has been established by the library in honor of its 100 years of service to the community.

The college scholarship will be awarded to one local senior who reads 50 books from a select list, and also demonstrates insight and creativity in an essay about how reading has impacted and inspired their future.

Applications are due March 1 from the online application form at www.greenwoodlibrary.us/scholarship. No paper applications will be accepted.
