Bank hires loan originator

Cindy L. Grant was hired to be a mortgage loan originator at Jackson County Bank.

Grant has more than 31 years of community banking and customer service experience, most recently at Horizon Bank.

Chamber of commerce seeks nominations for awards

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations of businesses and organizations that have impacted the community.

Nomination forms are available at franklincoc.org and are due by Friday.

Award descriptions are:

• Business Hall of Fame Award – Recognizes a Chamber company in business for 25 plus years, based on their success in growth and stability, commitment to quality and over all contribution to the community.

• Community Impact Award – Recognizes a Chamber business/organization that has demonstrated outstanding business success in the areas of growth, stability and commitment to quality of life and overall contribution to the community.

• Community Service Award – Recognizes an individual(s) or organization that has contributed significantly to the Franklin community; serving selflessly without intent for personal or monetary gain.

Awards will be given at the commerce’s annual banquet in February.

Chemist joins Franklin business

Dr. William (Bill) Nowatzke, has started at B2s Life Sciences in Franklin as vice president of laboratory operations and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments testing.

Nowatzke is a board-certified clinical chemist with more than 20 years of academic, industry and contract research organization  experience. He implements and manages laboratory operations to support regulated bioanalysis of biotherapeutics and programs for clinical diagnostics.

Greenwood residents begins work at Indianapolis mortgage company

Mark Dietrich has joined Busey Home Mortgage as a mortgage originator.

Dietrich previously worked for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in Greenwood, where he spent nearly 14 years. He is a resident of Greenwood.
