Christmas Angels program seeks donations

An annual United Way program that gives Christmas gifts to needy children is looking for donations and especially needs gifts for teens and tweens.

Christmas Angels, a program of United Way of Johnson County, is designed to provide gifts for Johnson County children, newborn to 17 years old, who would otherwise not have Christmas gifts. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 14.

Suggested gift donations for teen girls include make-up, cosmetic utensils, jewelry and accessories. Suggested donations for boys include skate boards, athletic balls, shave kits and drones. Suggested donations for teens in general include fast food restaurant gift cards, music download gift cards, DVD movies, blankets, socks, clothing, art supplies and video games.

Donations items for tweens could include art supplies, adult coloring books, Lego sets, board games, craft sets and action figures.

Drop donations off at United Way of Johnson County, 594 Ironwood Drive, Franklin. Donations will also be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E. Adams Drive, Franklin. Organizers prefer donations to be dropped off on Dec. 14.
