Woman arrested on several charges after she passes out in Edinburgh man’s trailer

A Franklin woman was arrested on several different charges after she conned her way into an Edinburgh man’s trailer and passed out in his bathroom.

Megan Elizabeth Davidson, 26, 1174 North Main St., was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, false reporting, drug injection with a restricted device, possession of paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, multiple probation violations and failure to appear. She is being held at the Johnson County jail without bond.

Edinburgh Police were called to a trailer in the 400 block of Prosser Drive in Edinburgh for a possible heart attack, according to a police report. When officers arrived just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, a woman who was staying at the trailer told them Davidson had knocked on the door. When she answered, Davidson told the woman she knew the owner of the trailer and needed to use the bathroom, so the woman let her in, the report said.

Moments later, the woman heard a thud in the bathroom and went to check on Davidson who she found unconscious on the bathroom floor. She began performing CPR and called 911, according to the report.

When officers arrived, Davidson was awake and conscious but “lethargic and very sweaty,” they said. She had also urinated on herself, the report said.

Davidson told officers she did not need any help and wanted to gather her things and leave. She repeatedly reached into her purse and under the bed even though officers told her not to, according to the report. Officers saw a syringe and a spoon with residue and a cotton swab on it inside her purse, they said.

Davidson told officers several times that her name was “Kelli Smith,” but a name tag and several identification cards inside her purse proved otherwise. That’s when she denied the purse was hers, according to the report.

The spoon and several baggies inside the purse field tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers recovered one of the baggies from a trash can in the bathroom, the report said.

When officers asked Davidson to contact the trailer’s owner, she could be seen telling him via text message to not answer his phone. She would dial his number and then hang up immediately, claiming he wasn’t answering, officers said.

Once officers were able to reach the homeowner, he told them Davidson was not welcome at his home and did not have his consent to be on the property. The woman who was staying at the trailer — a relative of his — was likely not aware of what was going on, he said.

Officers also found paperwork, a hospital bracelet and a prescription bottle with pills in it that belonged to a “Kelli Smith” in Davidson’s purse. Davidson insisted that was her name and everything belonged to her, the report said.

She was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital, where she eventually told hospital staff that her name was Megan Davidson and provided them with her correct date of birth, according to the report.

Davidson had three outstanding warrants out of Johnson County.
