Magen’s picks – November 15

HEALTHY INSTANT POT COOKING, 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 15, Franklin library, 401 State St. Danielle Dennis, Health and Human Sciences Educator with Purdue Extension Johnson County, will teach healthy recipes using the Instant Pot.

Local residents who want to get in on one of the new crazes of fast cooking can learn how today.

A Purdue Extension Educator will teach you how to use your Instant Pot to make healthy meals for you and your family at the Franklin library.

The Instant Pot was invented around 2010 as part pressure cooker and slow cooker. The kitchen appliance has become popular over the last few years, with friends and family swapping recipes and buying the cooker for other adults during the holidays.

A classic Charles Dickens holiday tale will be at the Artcraft this weekend.

"The Muppet Christmas Carol" puts a new spin on Dickens’ classic that has Ebenezer Scrooge visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve who show him how his miserly ways have affected his life.

This story, debuting in 1992, stars Michael Caine as Scrooge and nearly the full array of Muppet favorites, including Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Gonzo and Fozzie Bear.

The musical is OK for kiddos and a sensory awareness showing is today.
