» Kickoff: 7 p.m.

» Webcast: centergrovefootball.com

» Recent history: The Orioles won last year’s regional clash at home, 32-21; in a 2015 semistate, the Trojans were a 35-34 winner in double overtime.

» Last week: Avon beat Brownsburg, 38-0; Center Grove won at Franklin Central, 23-6

» Sagarin ratings: Avon 99.68 (sixth overall, fifth in Class 6A), Center Grove 104.85 (third overall, second in 6A)

» Players to watch: Avon — QB Henry Hesson, RB Sampson James, WR/DB Jalen Peterson, WR Wallace Stovall Jr., DL Matt Bromm, LB/DB Alex Griffith, DB Nathan Conley; Center Grove — QB Jackson Moore, RB Carson Steele, RB/KR Charlie Ogega, RB Gavin Matheson, DL Brian Gaffney, DL Caden Curry, DB Lucas Roehling

» What to look for: The Orioles turned some heads last week with a surprisingly thorough beating of previously unbeaten Brownsburg, but Center Grove probably didn’t need that result to put them on notice. Turnovers doomed the Trojans in this matchup a year ago, denying them the ability to keep Avon’s potent and balanced offense off the field for longer stretches. If they can avoid such miscues tonight, they should be able to control the pace behind Steele, who ran for 269 yards against the Orioles last fall and is averaging 212 yards during Center Grove’s current six-game win streak.
