A convicted sex offender is suspected of exposing himself to a woman at a truck stop last month.
Joshua S. Broughton, 38, of Scottsburg, has been charged with public indecency, a misdemeanor. He was arrested during the weekend.
A woman reported on Sept. 10 that she was parked at a truck stop in Whiteland, and a man parked next to her exposed himself while looking at her, according to a probable cause affidavit.
She was able to get his license plate number and police traced it to Broughton, the report said.
He told police he was at the truck stop at the time in question because he drives to and from work in Indianapolis, but he never exposed himself, the report said.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office sex offender registry lists Broughton as previously convicted of first degree sexual abuse.
