Man could face 2 felonies in child exploitation investigation

A man has been arrested on two felony counts after police found multiple images and videos of child pornography on his computer.

Ewing M. Burnette, 28, of 6904 Emerald Bay Lane, Indianapolis, has been arrested on two felony charges of child exploitation after an investigation that began last year due a tip from a nationwide organization that works to prevent and stop child exploitation and help police identify the victims, a Greenwood police report said.

Police tracked the Internet address for the account connected to uploading the images. The account belonged to Burnette, who was living in Greenwood at the time, the report said.

The images linked to Burnette include children as young as 4 years old engaging in sex acts, the report said.

Detectives got a search warrant and searched Burnette’s property late last week. He told police that he downloads child pornography, and also uploads images in order to get access to download more photos, the report said.

Police located a large number of video and image files, the report said.

Burnette was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $9,300 bond.

The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, charges to file.
