Correction – September 15

A suspect who was arrested this week on multiple drug-related felony charges was using a false identity when he was booked into the Johnson County jail, police said.

Devin Coleman, 32, of Indianapolis, was not arrested. A person was fraudulently using his identity when Franklin police arrested him, Franklin Police Chief Kirby Cochran said. Because of that, his name was included in Friday’s Daily Journal in the listing of inmates who had been booked into the jail.

The issue was discovered after the inmate’s fingerprints did not match that of Coleman’s, Cochran said.

The correct identity of the inmate who was arrested is Ian Coleman, age 34, of 209 Park Avenue in Bargersville.
