Grizzly Cubs sweep Falcons

Franklin defeated Perry Meridian on Thursday, 25-23, 25-16, 25-21. Kabria Chapman had 13 kills and 2 blocks, while Cami Kelsay added seven kills and three blocks. Brooke Phillips dished out 28 assists and three blocks.

Trojans hammer Artesians

Class 4A No. 5 Center Grove rolled past Martinsville on Thursday, 25-9, 25-7, 25-16. Madison Hammill had 25 assists, four kills, five digs and three aces for the Trojans, while Gracie Gasper added six kills. Defensively, Ashley Eck and Santina Schembra had 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

Braves edged in five

Indian Creek suffered a heartbreaking five-set loss on Thursday, 12-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10. Taylor Burkett had 15 kills and four blocks for the Braves, while Morgan Frash added 12 kills. Malea Brownfield had 39 assists, and Jessie Hart had 10 kills and 15 digs.

Woodmen win in four

Greenwood defeated Beech Grove on Thursday, 25-18, 11-25, 25-9, 25-17.

Boys soccer

Cougars thump Trinity Lutheran

Griffin Huizinga scored four goals to help Class A No. 11 Greenwood Christian overwhelm Trinity Lutheran, 9-4, on Thursday.

Jon Amador and Luke Walters each had a goal and an assist for the Cougars, while Jack Kovacs, Dane Crick and Fernando Lagunas also scored. Griffin Peters had a pair of assists.

Rebels tie Cardinals

Roncalli battled Southport to a draw on Thursday, 1-1. William Bawi scored the lone goal for the Rebels.

Grizzly Cubs edged by Shelbyville

Franklin fell to Shelbyville on Thursday, 3-2. Josiah Rockey was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Adam Johnson and Jackson Klem also won in straight sets.
