Hearts & Darts – August 13

Hearts

Thank you to all who assisted in making our tribute to our World War II veterans so wonderful. Boy scouts, football players, motorcycle riders, VFW Honor and Color Guard, volunteers, elected officials — together, as a community, we were able to honor these heroes — our American veterans. It was a picture perfect day. Most importantly thank you to all the men and women who have or are serving, may God bless and protect you all.

Huge hearts to the woman on the security staff at Franklin College, who thoughtfully helped us brainstorm alternatives for our Authors at Johnson County Public Library event during July 27’s power outage. She located folding chairs for us when we moved the event outdoors. Linwood Barclay and the attendees enjoyed an al fresco presentation on one of the loveliest evenings of summer on a beautiful college campus. We are thankful for such wonderful community partners and staff like her who make a difference!

The Kiwanis Club of Franklin would like to thank everyone who visited our food booth at the Johnson County Fair. The proceeds from this fundraiser go to “Help the Children” in our community, state and around the world. Kiwanis would also like to thank those who donated to Fast Track. You helped raise $262 for the United Way Fast Track program helping those students less fortunate with much needed school supplies. Thanks again and hope to see you again next year!!

Hearts to Johnson Memorial Hospital’s and Community South’s ER department’s doctors and nurses and Community South’s OBGYB department for everything they have done for me in the past and recently. They always give me good care.
