Local resident involved in homeless shelter

A Bargersville resident has received a job helping with a homeless shelter in Morgan County.

WellSpring has named David Q. Maurer II, as its new director of community engagement.

Maurer graduated from Franklin College in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in business. From 1984 to 2012, he worked in the health and life insurance industry as a marketing representative. He has also done marketing and not-for-profit consulting work for Advanta Clean, the Center Grove Community Newsletter, One Mission Society and the Indiana National Guard.

WellSpring has served as the only shelter for homeless families in Morgan County since 1988.

Adult and Child Health has hired new doctor

A clinic that offers health services in Franklin has hired a new physician.

Mark Striebel is now practicing at the Adult and Child Health Clinic at 1860 Northwood Plaza.

Striebel is a native of Dayton, Ohio where he most recently worked as a primary care physician for Kettering Health while also helping medical residents as a Skills Lab Instructor at A.T. Still University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Credit union named best in the state

Indiana Members Credit Union was named the top credit union in Indiana on the first-ever Forbes “Best-In-State Credit Union” listing.

Forbes, in partnership with market research firm Statista, surveyed more than 25,000 customers in the U.S. for their opinions on their current and former banking relationships. Credit Unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as five sub dimensions: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice.

The credit union has branches in the Center Grove area and Greenwood.

Investment group named a top company

An investment group that has several locations across the county has been named one of the best places to work.

People magazine and Great Place to Work have honored Edward Jones as one of People’s “50 Companies That Care,” a ranking based on the firm’s associate feedback about how their workplace makes a difference in their lives and their communities.

Rankings represent feedback from more than 4.5 million employees across the U.S. People partnered with Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, to analyze employees’ survey feedback and to consider the generosity of each organization’s benefits, philanthropic and community support.

Edward Jones took the No. 5 spot on the list.

Multiple financial advisers in Franklin, Whiteland and Greenwood, work for the company.

Greenwood pediatric clinic gets new doctor

Aileen D. Puno, MD, has joined Franciscan Physician Network County Line Pediatrics.

She joins Stacey Smith, MD, and Shanna Bowman, MD,whose offices are at 747 E. County Line Road, Suite G, Greenwood.

Puno received an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of the Philippines and earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila. She completed a pediatrics residency at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Puno is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Longtime senior service celebrating with open house

An organization that helps senior citizens stay in their homes longer is having an open house.

Senior Helpers, 494 S. Emerson Ave., Greenwood will be having an open house of a new training center from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The organizations assists senior citizens with day-to-day needs such as housekeeping, meal preparation and professional care.
