Woman arrested on drug charges

An Indianapolis woman was arrested after police found methamphetamine in her vehicle that she told them she planned to sell to friends.

Virginia Newcomb, 38, 7611 Lancer Lane, was arrested on charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Greenwood police stopped Newcomb near Main Street and Sheek Road after she failed to use a turn signal. She told police her license was suspended and that she had marijuana in the car, the report said.

Officers found marijuana and a pipe in Newcomb’s purse, and 27 grams of methamphetamine and another pipe in a Crown Royal bag. Newcomb told police she was planning to sell the meth to friends, the report said.

Newcomb was taken to the Johnson County jail and is being held on $66,400 bond.
