Mini 4-H’ers show sheep

Dozens of 4-Her’s took on the arena to show their sheep, and some were doing it for the first time.

Landry Nickleson, 6, said he was excited to show his sheep for the first time, since he has two older brothers in 4-H.

His first experience was with feeding and grooming his sheep, and coming to the fair every morning, he said.

Amelia Canary, 7, and her family spent time washing and fluffing her sheep before the show. But she wasn’t that excited to show her animals because her sheep didn’t get along with her, she said.

Also showing for the first time was 8-year-old Karsen Smithey.

He also shows goats and pigs and plans to join 4-H next year, he said.

“He did an amazing job,” his great-aunt Melanie Carmack said.
