What was your previous position?

My previous position was connections director at Emmanuel Church.

What attracted you to Emmanuel Church?

What attracted me to Emmanuel Church was that they were very passionate and intentional about reaching people that have written off church as boring, irrelevant or judgmental. They are so driven by their vision that they build multiple campuses to reach more people.

Why did you become a pastor?

I became a pastor to come alongside and do life with people. I want to let them know that God loves them very much and He wants to give them a fulfilling life. I want to be available to help people discover their purpose and take their next steps in the direction God has for them.

What is your No. 1 goal in your new position?

My goal and heart as Emmanuel’s Franklin campus pastor is for our church to have such a positive and widespread impact that we become an indispensable part of this community. I want our community to know that we are FOR them!

What is your favorite scripture?

My favorite scripture passage that really guides my life is Matthew 22:37-39, “37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Jesus tells us here that our focus in life should be on loving God and loving others. So, I want my life to be shaped by this in everything that I do and say.

How long have you been working in this capacity?

I have 18 years of ministry leadership experience.

Where did you attend school?

I graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in finance.

I graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Christian education.

What attracted you to Johnson County?

What attracted me to Johnson County is that it feels like home. I grew up in Columbus and so we moved to Johnson County to be close to family as well as close to the big city offerings of Indianapolis. There are a lot of great people here and we still get the small-town feel.

What are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to building relationships with people and letting the community know that we are for them!
