Woman arrested on charge of hiding evidence

Sheriff’s deputies used a Taser on a woman who they said jumped back into her car and swallowed something inside after a traffic stop.

Darlene Easley, 28, Indianapolis, was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and resisting law enforcement. Easley was also cited for exceeding a posted speed limit, not having a valid driver’s license and not having insurance, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

During a traffic stop around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 325E south of Franklin, an officer noticed the smell of marijuana and asked Easley to sit in his patrol car, the report said.

When the deputy told Easley he smelled marijuana in her car, she walked back to her car, fought with the officer, jumped in through the window and swallowed something inside, the report said. The deputy used a Taser to get Easley to stop, and arrested her, the report said.

Easley, 4046 Rookwood Ave., was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for treatment and then arrested. She was released from the the Johnson County jail on $2,200 bond.
