Man arrested after hitting woman with gun

A Greenwood man was arrested after police said he struck a woman with a gun after an argument.

Casey Sage, 31, was arrested on charges of domestic battery and pointing a firearm.

A woman told police that she had been arguing with Sage on Tuesday evening and had gone to her friend’s apartment, a Greenwood Police Department report said. Sage came to the apartment with a shotgun and kicked in the door. The woman told police Casey hit her with the gun and threw her to the ground, the report said.

The woman had cuts on her arms and hands and a bite mark on her left hand, the report said.

Sage told police that the woman had taken his guns to her friend’s apartment and that he had gone there to retrieve them. He said he brought the shotgun along for his own protection, the report said.

Sage was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital to be checked out after a test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .28 percent. On the way to the hospital, he threatened to kill the officer and the officer’s family, the report said.

Sage, 1159 Southbridge Circle, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail and held on $4,300 bond.
