Three arrested after drug investigation

Three people were arrested after a drug investigation in Edinburgh.

Bonnie Phillips, 51, and Donald Phillips, 53, both of Edinburgh, were both arrested on charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia. Bonnie Phillips was also arrested on two charges of dealingĀ  methamphetamine, and Donald Phillips was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Brian Custer, 47, of Columbus, was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

Police received tips that Donald and Bonnie Phillips were selling methamphetamine from a home in the 600 block of Pleasant Street. Last week, police set up an undercover drug deal and bought 3.5 grams of methamphetamine outside the home. Officers then searched the home, and found marijuana plants and smoking devices in Donald Phillips’ bedroom, according to the police report. Custer was stopped by police, who found meth and a pipe in the vehicle, the affidavit said.

Bonnie Phillips and Donald Phillips, both of 610 S. Pleasant St., and Custer, 782 S. Mutz Drive, were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. Bonnie Phillips was held on $37,600 bond, Donald Phillips was held on $2,200 bond and Custer was held on $19,800 bond.
