At least eight runners with Johnson County ties completed Monday’s Boston Marathon.
Jared Campbell was the first of those to cross the finish line, placing 401st among men and 410th overall with an impressive time of 2 hours, 47 minutes and 39 seconds.
Ben Wood, an Indian Creek graduate now living in the Chicago area, was next with a time of 3:14:08. Not far behind Wood was Riley Turk (3:25:07). Chris Hardin finished in 3:29:01, just 36 seconds ahead of his training partner, Brian Wilson.
On the women’s side, Amy Withem turned in a time of 3:49:16, while Jyoti Verderame crossed the line in 3:51:41, good for 214th place in her age group (50 to 54). Susie Howard came in with a time of 4:48:18.
