DeWayne Lee Felber

INDIANAPOLIS

Rev. DeWayne Lee Felber,90, of Indianapolis, passed away April 12, 2018. He was born January 8, 1928 in Berne, IN, to the late Ervin and Helen Felber. DeWayne was a 1946 graduate of Berne High School. Bob Jones University was very instrumental in his life traveling as a representative several summers, receiving his Bachelors Degree, an honorary doctorate of Divinity and serving on the Board of Directors until his passing. DeWayne married Lena Nussbaum and they served the Lord faithfully together until Lena passed away in 1999. DeWayne was the pastor of Burge Terrace Baptist Church beginning in 1959 when it was a very small congregation growing to a church of over 800 members when he retired in 1992. His ministry and outreach was global, and he served on multiple mission boards, traveling to many countries, serving and encouraging missionaries. Pastor Felber was faithful to God’s calling for over 7 decades.

Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Burge Terrace Baptist Church, 9345 Brookville Rd., with funeral services Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

DeWayne is survived by his children, Mirriel (Greg) Candler of Saint Cloud, MN, Rev. Mark (Caryn) Felber of Whiteland, IN, and Rev. Michael (Cindy) Felber of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Stephanie (Bill) Gardner; Jeffrey (Laura) Candler, Micah (Abby) Felber, Kara (Adam) Carroll, Andrew (Marisa) Felber, Zachary Felber, Blake, Caleb, Caity, Bryce Felber. Great -grandchildren: Finn, Max, Beck, Stella Gardner. Sister: Sherrill (Gene) Bradford. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
