SALT LAKE CITY — A man has been sentenced to 120 days in prison for leaving his 5-year-old daughter alone at an Ogden college on a cold night.

Police say Adrian Sanchez left the girl at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College campus in temperatures just above freezing on Oct. 9, 2016 with a coat and blanket.

A security guard found the girl about two hours later shaking and crying.

Police say she had only been wearing pajamas and shoes.

The Deseret News reports Sanchez pleaded guilty to third-degree felony child abandonment in January.

In addition to the 120-day prison sentence he received on Tuesday, Sanchez must also complete 60 hours of community service and three years of probation.
