Letter: Messer can help forward President’s agenda

To the editor:

The president needs a real partner in our U.S. Senate. The obstructionist efforts by democrat Joe Donnelly and his leader pal Chuck Schumer are hurting America and Indiana. They serve only to stymie the administration’s efforts to make America and Indiana great! By aligning himself with Chuck Schumer, Democrat Joe Donnelly is standing in the way of progress. It is time to replace him with a person like Luke Messer.

Luke sets himself apart in both tone and substance. Offering real policy proposals in a refreshing and positive way, Luke shows he is a leader ready for the job. For example, his idea to end the filibuster in the Senate. Ending the 60-vote threshold to pass vital legislation would stop obstructionist democrats like Chuck Schumer and his partner Joe Donnelly from blocking common sense reforms in the Senate. Fixing this rule would be a major step toward finally repealing Obamacare and passing the Trump-Pence agenda.

In a decisive November 2016 election Hoosiers elected President Trump. This obstructionism has got to stop if America and Indiana are to ever move forward. It’s time to hire a leader and a capable partner for the president. It’s time for Luke Messer.
