MARTINSVILLE
Linda Lou (Hendershot) Noel, age 64, passed away Tuesday morning, April 10, 2018 at her home in Martinsville.
She was born December 18, 1953, in Columbus, to her parents, Herschel N. and Donna L. (Rider) Hendershot. Linda was a 1972 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to graduate from Marion County General Hospital School of Nursing in 1975.
She retired in 2017 as a Registered Nurse for Johnson Memorial Hospital after 38 years of service. Linda was nominated and recognized several times for various awards by the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital and was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2015. Through the years, she was also nominated for several awards through A Salute to Nurses program for her dedication to the nursing profession. Linda was a founding member of the Gateway Chapel Holiness Church in Martinsville where she continued to be an active member since 2007. Linda enjoyed reading, tending to her flower gardens and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 43 devoted years, Lowell G. Noel, whom she married on July 13, 1974 in Nashville. Linda is also survived by her mother, Donna L. Hendershot of Nashville; children, Lynda “Michelle” (Bob) Romeiser of Nashville, Jason (Rachael) Noel of Mooresville, Ryan Bruce Noel of Indianapolis and Tricia (Bradley) Wick of Lucerne; grandchildren, Henry and Jasper Noel & Brad and Ashley Wick; twin sister, Tamara Sue (Danny) Cooper of Indianapolis, sister, Patricia Kay Hendershot of Nashville; brothers, Ronald (Diane) Hendershot of Columbus and Todd Ray (Susie) Hendershot of Norman.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Herschel.
The Rev. Tom Bell will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Martinsville.
