GREENVILLE, S.C. — A North Carolina man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to a South Carolina killing nearly two years ago.

Prosecutor Walt Wilkins said in a news release that 21-year-old Dmarrion Gilmore of Charlotte, North Carolina, pleaded guilty in Greenville on Monday to murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Prosecutors say Gilmore shot 62-year-old Terry Lollis of Pelzer on June 25, 2016, after Gilmore wrecked his car outside the victim’s Dance Barn.

Prosecutors said Gilmore tried to steal a car and when that failed he opened fire in the building. Prosecutors say Lollis went from his house next door to see what was going on and was shot four times by Gilmore.

Lollis later died at the hospital from the wounds.
