CICERO, N.Y. — Authorities in upstate New York say a man drowned when his kayak overturned on Oneida Lake.

Police say the man’s kayak overturned Tuesday night near Aero Marina in Cicero. He was treading and tried to swim to shore when he went under the surface.

Onondaga County deputies say the man was found an hour after he went under.

Police have not identified the victim.

An investigation continues.
