Local winter percussion groups competed at their state finals over the weekend, with some snagging top-five placements.
The winter percussion group at Center Grove High School earned third in scholastic world class at the Indiana Percussion Association state finals at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.
The Greenwood Winter Percussion ensemble were bronze medalists out of 27 groups in their class.
Whiteland placed third, earning bronze medals, in concert open class.
