American Legion

Students from Franklin Community and Indian Creek high schools may be eligible for a scholarship.

Franklin American Legion Auxiliary will be awarding the annual Elizabeth Duhamell and Marjorie Rook scholarship to two students for $500 each.

Applications are available at each high school.

Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation

The Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation is offering multiple scholarships to students who want to study in the medical field. Scholarships include:

  • Johnson Memorial Hospital Guild High School Scholarship: To financially assist high school seniors or high school graduates from the last two years who plan to continue their education in a health-related field at any recognized and accredited college or university in Indiana.
  • Johnson Memorial Hospital Guild High School Continuing Education Health Field Scholarship: To financially assist Johnson Memorial Hospital employees or volunteers to continue their education in a health-related field at a recognized and accredited college or university in Indiana.
  • The Freda P. and Milliard R. Montgomery Scholarship: For Johnson County seniors to continue their education to pursue a bachelor of science nursing degree at a recognized and accredited college or university in Indiana.
  • Katie Robards Memorial Education Scholarship: For Johnson County residents pursuing careers in a health-related field at any recognized and accredited college or university in Indiana.

Music major grant

Johnson County high school seniors who intend to pursue a music career may be eligible for a scholarship from a local music advocacy group. Matinee Musicale is offering a $600 scholarship. Students must be planning to attend an accredited college or university.

Sertoma Club

The Sertoma Club of Greenwood is offering four $2,000 one-year college scholarships to graduating high school seniors seeking a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.

Seniors attending Center Grove, Greenwood, Perry Meridian, Southport or Whiteland high schools are eligible to apply.

Applications are available through the guidance counselor offices or sertomaclubofgreenwood.com. The application deadline is Friday.

The Sertoma Club of Greenwood intends to award one of the four scholarships to a student who is hearing impaired, or intends to major in an area related to speech and hearing. The remaining three scholarships are open to all other studies.
