CARSON CITY, Nev. — Prison officials in Nevada say a 72-year-old inmate who was serving a sentence for assault with a weapon has died.
The state Department of Corrections says Ronald Bonds had been housed in the Regional Medical Facility at Northern Nevada Correctional Center before he died Tuesday at Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
Bonds was sentenced in 2017 in Carson City to one-to-three years in prison.
His cause of death was not immediately disclosed. The Carson City sheriff’s office coroner was scheduled to conduct an autopsy.
