James C. Joiner, 79 of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away April 4, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born October 27, 1938 in Butler County, Kentucky. He was the son of Cecil and Myrtle (Gabbard) Joiner. He married Shirley (Miller) Joiner.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley of Nineveh, Indiana, sons, Alan (Dana) Joiner of Shelbyville, Indiana, Brad (Stephanie) Joiner of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Ronnie L. (Elizabeth) Joiner of Oregon City, Oregon, daughter, Scharlene “Kay” Joiner of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Ann Joiner, brothers, Robert, Captain Bill, and Clay Joiner, and sisters, Louise Embry, Sylvia Threkel, and Dinah Copas.
He was a member of Spearsville Road Church of Christ, Trafalgar, Indiana. He served in the US Navy.
He was a welder and pipe fitter for 440 Local Union in Indianapolis.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 9, 2018 by Reverend Everette Hardin at Big Reedy Cemetery, Round Hill, Kentucky. Calling will be on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana.
