WOODBRIDGE, Conn. — Authorities have publicly identified the man whose body was found lying in a Woodbridge road earlier this week.

Police say 37-year-old Alan Robinson Jr., of New Haven, was found at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner said Robinson was shot in the head, torso and extremity. It was unclear if the victim was shot where he was found or if the body had been dumped there.

Two area schools were briefly locked down during the investigation.

Police have not named any suspects or announced any arrests.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact police.
