They searched an Acura TSX and found 32 pounds (14.5 kilograms) of methamphetamine and 5,000 tablets of fentanyl in a speaker box inside the trunk. The drugs in total are estimated to be worth nearly $200,000.
The 23-year-old male driver and a 22-year-old female passenger were taken into custody.
Agents, who did not release the suspects’ names, say they are both U.S. citizens and were traveling from Los Angeles to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
