CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service has posted a winter storm warning for parts of east-central and southeast Wyoming.

The area includes Niobrara, Converse, Weston, Crook and southern Campbell counties and the cities of Glenrock, Lusk and Douglas.

The Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges also are under a winter storm warning.

Areas of northern, central and eastern Wyoming are under a winter weather advisory, including the cities of Cheyenne, Casper, Sheridan, Gillette and Worland.

Snow was falling Thursday afternoon in northern areas of the state and was to spread south and east Thursday evening.
