Rosanna B. Mathena

WHITELAND

Rosanna B. Mathena, 85, passed away on Friday, March 30th, 2018 in Franklin. She was a longtime resident of Whiteland, Indiana.

She was born on January 19, 1933 in Whiteland to Myron Lafayette and Caroline Christine (Trout) Brunnemer. Rosanna married Charles Thomas “Tom” Mathena on August 15th, 1952. He preceded her in passing in 2005. She is survived by their two daughters, Emily Goad (Jay) of Franklin and Ellen Causey of Whiteland. Also surviving are grandchildren, Daniel Ray Causey (Kristen), Scott Thomas Causey (Trent Vigil), Paul Matthew Goad and Mallory Louise Sewell (Allen); and one brother, Harlan Brunnemer. She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Tom; and sister, Wilma Lee Church.

Rosanna was a 1951 graduate of Whiteland High School.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a Secretary for the Indiana Teachers Retirement Association and also worked as a secretary for two churches.

She was a member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Franklin. Rosanna enjoyed gardening, bird watching and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rev. Brandon Jolley and Rev. David Lee will conduct a celebration of Rosanna’s life on Wednesday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W. 100 North, in Franklin. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North), in Franklin and on Wednesday, April 4th from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the church. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
