BATON ROUGE, La. — Police say a teenager was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Louisiana.

Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. said in a news release Sunday that Ke’irie Grayer died.

News outlets report that McKneely says Grayer approached a 25-year-old man as he was leaving a store and attempted to rob the man at gunpoint.

Police reviewed video footage of the incident and have ruled the fatal shooting justified. Officers will present the evidence they collected to the district attorney’s office to review, leaving open the possibility that the shooter could later be arrested and charged.
