CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss. — A man faces murder charges after a central Mississippi shooting that left one person dead and the accused shooter and a woman injured.

Copiah County Sheriff Harold Jones says Luther Rhymes was charged Friday with murder, aggravated domestic violence and being a felon in procession of a gun.

Local media report that the 61-year-old Rhymes got in a fight with his 34-year-old girlfriend, Shuronda Robinson of Crystal Springs, as well as Roger Darnell Jenkins, on Thursday at a residence near Crystal Springs. Officials say Rhymes shot and killed Jenkins, a 48-year-old Jackson resident, and shot Robinson in the face and back. She was taken to a hospital.

Police say Rhymes was shot across the stomach. He was released from a hospital to jail. It’s unclear if Rhymes has a lawyer.
