BEND, Ore. — A dog breeder near Bend has been charged with two counts of felony animal neglect following the seizure of 53 dogs from her property by authorities.

The Bulletin reported Friday that 63-year-old Pamela Kyler was charged and that she cooperated with investigators and released ownership of the dogs.

Sheriff’s deputies responded March 16 to the property in La Pine to perform a welfare check on the animals. Deputies say the dogs were not receiving proper care.

Kyler runs Kyler’s Field and Marsh Kennels, a breeder of Labradors and German shorthaired pointers.

The 53 dogs have been taken to the Humane Society of Central Oregon and Humane Society in Portland.

Many of the dogs will be available for adoption.
